Biography

What if I tell you that one of the stellar revelations in surfing, competing in the World’s Pro Jr. event, is from Sweden? That’s right, Kian Martin is a Swedish surfer lucky enough to be raised in Bali -one of the best places on earth if you decided at an early age to be a surfer.

He inherited the love of surfing from his Brazilian Dad, the dominant country flag in surfing for the past decade, mixed with Viking power to destroy the waves and boom, here you have one the most exciting surfers from the new generation.

Kian is the first Swedish Surfer to qualify for the WSL Challenger Series.

As a part of the Billabong team from a very young age, his world recognition came after his explosive part in Billabong’s latest video, “Interlusion” surfing the best waves of the Mentawai islands, alongside the 2x world champion Joel Parkinson, in his own words describing it as “the best surf trip ever”.

Alongside Billabong, Kian is supported by one the greatest board companies in history, Channel Islands who have provided him with top-notch blades to perform at the highest levels. His connection with his boards has resulted him podium wins in important events, summing up enough points to enter the division to the surfing elite, the Challenger Series.

Consistently placing in competitions over the years and releasing captivating video parts, Kian isn't done growing yet as he sets his gaze on making the Championship Tour.

Having the smooth style of a Swede, raw power of a Brazilian, and consistency of an Indonesian, Kian can effortlessly punt and land the biggest airs, make buckets of spray rain down from massive hacks and sneak through the tightest doggy doors the ocean throws at him.
Now that you’ve heard the name, you won’t be able to forget it as Kian Martin is the talk of the town. Stay tuned, Kian’s legacy has just begun.
