Alberto Barzan

Rome, Italy & Malibu, California

Surfing might not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear an Italian born in New York, but Alberto is all about changing perceptions and breaking down barriers when it comes to surfing. Alberto’s migration from the east coast to the west coast catapulted his abilities in the water and with the help from his trusty skateboard, his style and acceleration in and out of the water will make you stop and stare.
Using Malibu and Hawaii as his training grounds, Alberto has launched himself into the competitive surf scene,

most recently claiming a first place finish in the NSSA Western Division under 14 category.

As part of the Italian Surfing Federation, he is determined to represent the land of food and fashion one day at the Olympics. Utilizing his love for skateboarding, Alberto continues to use the fundamentals of skating to get back to the basics. Whether dropping 18-foot ramps in Waimea or his air awareness for aerials in the water, Alberto has it all. Keep on eye on this kid, Brazilian surfer Adriano de Souza, former world champion, referred to Alberto as “a warrior, full of talent” something we can all agree on.

Don't let Alberto's age fool you, this up and comer is going full steam ahead for the Olympics.
