Biography

The stoke. The stoke is no joke. Sean Pettit loves it. He never has to fake it. He loves the ride that he’s on. He has no interest in slowing down the freight train. And now, people are starting to ask: Is it true that this 24 year-old guy is at the top of the game? Already?

From pitching the best freeski trips on the planet to planning them, Sean has taken ownership of his own destiny. When the heli takes off, his own meter starts running. The value of this is all very real. So Sean earns it day in and day out. He skis for the joy of the sport, paying homage to his predecessors while simultaneously creating a new ceiling for himself and his peers with each passing day in the backcountry.

From pitching the best freeski trips on the planet to planning them, Sean has taken ownership of his own destiny.

As such, Sean’s ski resume looks like what some would build up to over the course of their lifetime. His innate talent and genuine hard work have taken him to the top of his field, and he understands that there are no givens to stay there. “I know that people put a lot of expectations on me that I want to deliver on. I just want to do it all in my own way, with my own style.”

Despite all the fanfare, Sean is truly a humble person. How does the youngest-ever Red Bull Athlete (signed at age 13, hardly old enough to need extra energy) remain true to the kid he was 10 years ago? How does he continuously put out one insane segment after another, consistently outdoing himself and amazing all those watching?

It’s actually not so difficult. He just jumps up into his jacked 2001 Chevy Suburban and goes for a cruiser ride around town. For Sean Pettit, the joy is in the journey.

And the journey doesn’t look like it’s going to end for a very, very long time.
