Biography

At the age of 17, when most professional snowboarders were signing their first big endorsement contract, Christy was strapping into a snowboard for the very first time. Fast forward just eight years and Christy is a New Zealand Olympian, a World Cup Slopestyle Champion, and being labeled by the World Snowboard Tour as the “most talented and ambitious female snowboarder out there right now.”

After that first ride, Christy fell in love with snowboarding and dropped everything she was doing to change her schedule to “eat, ride, sleep, repeat.” Although Christy’s unparalleled rise through the snowboarding ranks made her stand out from everyone else, it was far from an easy ride. Massive geographic distances from the epicenter of the sport and mounting injuries proved to be constant obstacles for a girl with her heart set on innovating her sport. At one critical point, Christy had one last shot to bet big on herself. So she loaded up the credit cards and traveled across the country competing in several international contests on her own dime. With an arsenal of podium finishes at competitions around the world, she has proved to everyone that she is a force to be reckoned with.

"If this platinum blonde wonder woman is doing it, she is doing it with tremendous style and she is doing it her own way."

To be surprised by any part of her story is to not know or understand Christy. It’s easy to say her natural, physical abilities are what allowed her become a professional seemingly overnight, but this would overlook what truly separates her from others: her approach to life. Whether it’s yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, snowboarding, friends, or anything else, if this platinum blonde wonder woman is doing it, she is doing it with tremendous style and she is doing it her own way.

Unconventional? Perhaps. Traveling a path only she could? Absolutely. Making her way to the top of the snowboarding world? Without a doubt.
